PRINCIPAL

Dr. Abdul Gafur M. is the Principal of KMCT Institute of Emerging Technology and Management  (KMCT-IETM), Manassery,Mukkam affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Thiruvanathapuram. Before joining at KMCT-IETM, he has worked as the Principal of the Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology Muvattupuzha. He started his career at MES College of Engineering Kuttippuram as the Lecturer in Computer Science and Engineering department in 2001 which was then affiliated to the University of Calicut. Later he moved to Bangalore and worked at Sambhram Institute of Technology affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Bangalore as the Head of the Information Science & Engineering department. In 2008 he flew abroad to take the faculty position at the University of Tabuk in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 9 years. Later he has taken the position of Dean (Research) and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at MEA Engineering College Perinthalmanna. He was awarded three times as the best faculty for producing 100 percentage results for B.Tech students in their end semester university examination of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and Visvesvaraya Technological University.

He did B.Tech degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the LBS College of Engineering under the University of Kannur, M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Calicut and Ph.D. from the faculty of Computer Science & Engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

He is the recognized research supervisor under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and member & convener of various doctoral committees. He has authored technical papers in SCI/Scopus indexed journals and technical magazines. Apart from peer reviewed journals his research findings are also cited by European patents. His area of interest includes Wireless protocol design and Artificial Intelligence. He is also acts as the advisor to various technology firms in India, UK, and UAE. He has delivered many keynote addresses on various occasions and received much-distinguished recognition during his career.

He has wide experience in National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as well as in the US-based ABET accreditation process. Under his leadership and guidance at Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology two B.Tech programs viz. Computer Science & Engineering and Civil Engineering received the NBA accreditation during the academic year 2021-22. He was the chief coordinator of the committee for the accreditation process for NBA at MEA Engineering College and under his leadership B.Tech programmes in CSE and ME departments are successfully granted NBA accreditation there. He was instrumental for the first time NBA accreditation at MES College of Engineering Kuttipuram by leading the accreditation work for the B.Tech CSE programme in 2004. He was also an active member of the prestigious ABET accreditation process at the University of Tabuk, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is the internationally recognized US accreditation body of College and University engineering and technology programmes. He was also an integral part of the Quality Control & Assurance Committee in various institutions in India and abroad. He was also served as the Member of the Committee for Community Welfare for the Indian Expatriates under the Indian Consulate, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Abdul Gafur is the fellow of Institution of Engineers (India), Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and senior member of IEEE.
